Imagine the amazement of Madelinots when they realize that their beloved islands have disappeared from the globe, no trace of them left on any map. An existential crisis spreads and strange rumors begin to circulate.... This is the poetic story story told by Magdalen artist-storyteller Cédric Landry in his show La light du Borgot. The show La light du Borgot. An exceptionally charismatic actor, storyteller and improviser, Cédric Landry masterfully led Cirque Éloize's 2022 and 2023 show Entre ciel et mer, for which he collaborated with mer, for which he wrote and starred. La light du Borgot, his own creation, directed by Michel-Maxime Legault, is the new boat he's launching the sea to let us breathe in the scents of his islands. For the curious, la light du Borgot is the name of the famous lighthouse on the Magdalen Islands which is used to guide boats back to port in foggy weather, but it also serves to the right path for lost souls. With his poetry and his penchant for enchantment, Cédric Landry also proves to be a lighthouse in the dreariness.
