As a prelude to the concert by Charles Richard-Hamelin, Théâtre de Lac-Brome presents a free 20-minute vocal recital in the foyer at 6:30 p.m. Doors to the main hall open at 6:50 p.m.
Franco-Canadian soprano Emma Gélineau-Cloutier is distinguished by her poised stage presence and radiant voice. A prizewinner at several competitions, including CMC 2025, FCMC 2025 and the 2024 Valspec Grand Prize, she has portrayed Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte and Countess Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro.
Joined by pianist Louise Pelletier, she offers a refined selection: lieder by Richard Strauss (Zueignung, Cäcilie), Pauline Viardot's expressive Tristesse-based on Chopin's Étude Op. 10 No. 3-and two arias by Giuseppe Verdi (Stornello, Perduta ho la pace). An excerpt from Otto Nicolai's Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor completes the program.
An intimate musical moment, offered before the main concert, introducing a distinguished emerging voice in an elegant setting.
This presentation is part of a pre-concert recital series that showcases young virtuosi and encourages the discovery of emerging talent.
