Created especially for the Festival litteraire de Lac-Brome, this event promises to be a unique moment between Michel Rabagliati and Alain Farah. A rare opportunity for literary enthusiasts to see these two renowned authors together on the same stage.

Alain Farah is a Canadian author and academic.

Born of Lebanese-Egyptian parents, he published a book of poetry, "Quelque chose se détache du port", with Le Quartanier in 2004, for which he was a finalist for the Prix Émile-Nelligan. His poem No. 4 was the subject of a short film entitled "Un cri au bonheur", directed by Paule Baillargeon in 2007.

In 2005, he moved temporarily to France, where he pursued doctoral studies at the École Normale Supérieure.

On his return to Quebec in 2008, he published "Matamore n° 29", a first novel acclaimed by the press.

In 2009, he was appointed assistant professor at McGill University. He succeeds Yvon Rivard and teaches creative writing as well as contemporary French literature, his area of specialization. In 2013, his doctoral thesis on Nathalie Quintane and Olivier Cadiot was published in France by Classiques Garnier, under the title "Le gala des incomparables".

Her novel "Pourquoi Bologne" (2013) was a finalist for the Grand Prix du livre de Montréal and the Governor General's Award for French-language novels and short stories. His short lyric play "Les fortifications de Vauban" was created and directed by Marie Brassard in 2014.

In 2016, he wrote the text for a comic strip entitled "La ligne la plus sombre", illustrated by Mélanie Baillairgé.

Since 2011, he has been a regular contributor to the radio program "Plus on est de fous, plus on lit", broadcast on ICI Radio-Canada Première, as well as to the magazines "Liberté" and "Nouveau Projet".

Michel Rabagliati is a Quebecois comic strip artist.

After a brief interest in typography, he studied graphic design and began freelancing in this field in 1981. In 1988, he began illustrating advertising in earnest.

He was one of the first in Montreal to produce illustrations exclusively by computer. Since then, this technique has been widely used. He gradually abandoned his "graphic design" clients to devote himself exclusively to advertising, editorial and publishing illustration. He works for various Montreal, Toronto and American magazines.

Having found his niche in autobiographical comics, Michel Rabagliati uses the adventures of Paul, his alter ego, to recount his childhood memories of the Montreal neighborhood he lived in, or at his great-aunt's cottage in the Laurentians.

The album "Paul à la campagne", published at the end of 1999 by La Pastèque, was greeted with a chorus of praise. Critics were unanimous in hailing Michel Rabagliati's great talent as a storyteller and illustrator. The album was awarded the Prix de la Librairie Pantoute de l'espoir québécois at the FBDF 2000, underlining the quality of this first work.

Since then, he has won several awards, including the Doug Wright Award for best Canadian comic strip in 2006, and a special mention from the Prix des libraires du Québec in 2006 for his body of work.

In 2008, he illustrated the cover of Mes Aïeux's CD La ligne orange, for which the group won the Félix award for record cover of the year at the 2009 ADISQ industry gala.

His sixth album, "Paul à Québec" won the Prix du Public at the 2010 Angoulême International Comics Festival. This album was adapted for film in 2015 by François Bouvier. Michel Rabagliati co-wrote the screenplay with the director.

His ninth album, "Paul à la maison", won Michel Rabagliati the Prix de la série at Angoulême in 2021.
