The show "Tension attention" coincides with the 40th anniversary... give or take, of the release of the album "Tension Attention", and shares its name. In 1983, this album introduced the Francophone world to one of the most talented singer-songwriters of his generation, notably thanks to the song «Ils s'aiment».

In the show "Tension Attention", Daniel Lavoie, accompanied by his pianist Jean-François Groulx, takes pleasure in performing his favorite songs from his repertoire, songs that, despite the passing of time, still resonate with the man he has become.

Biography
Born in the Francophone community of Dunrea, Manitoba in 1949, Daniel Lavoie is a singer-songwriter, but also an actor, radio host, and poet who has left us with many unforgettable songs, including the timeless «Ils s'aiment», an ode to the power of love against the worst atrocities in our world...

Daniel Lavoie first gained international recognition with his third album, "Nirvana Bleu", earning his first Félix Award in 1980 for Best Male Artist of the Year. Awards followed. In 1984, with the album "Tension Attention", the song «Ils s'aiment» became a major hit in France. This song, which sold over 2 million copies, won a Midem d'Or in Cannes in 1985.

As a featured artist at the 1990 Francofolies de Montréal, Daniel Lavoie returned to the forefront of the French scene the following year in Luc Plamondon's rock opera "Sand et les Romantiques", alongside Catherine Lara. 1998 was a landmark year, as Luc Plamondon offered him the role of the priest Claude Frollo in the musical "Notre Dame de Paris", adapted from Victor Hugo's novel, with music by Richard Cocciante. The show became a global phenomenon. For three years, Daniel Lavoie shared the stage with Garou (Quasimodo), Patrick Fiori (Phoebus), and Hélène Ségara (Esmeralda).

In 2022, Franco-Manitoban singer-songwriter Daniel Lavoie was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.
