The Joe Grass show is an exploration of songs and forms, where the audience becomes the fourth member of the band. Defying genres, they take you on a journey, cast spells, and tell stories rooted in the present. The trio, consisting of Joe Grass (guitar), Morgan Moore (bass), and Robbie Kuster (drums), performs tracks from Joe's latest album, Falcon's Heart.
Hailing originally from Moncton and now based in Montreal, Joe began playing the guitar at age 8 and by the time he was 14 could be found performing in venues throughout the province.
Possessing a musical breadth steeped in blues, gospel, jazz, bluegrass, traditional East Coast music, and a sound that is beyond his young age, Joe's music is a blend of evocative song-writing, contemporary finger-style and lap-slide guitar.
In his short career, Joe has built an impressive list of achievements. He was the winner of the 2004 Ottawa Folk Festival Auditions New Performer-Youth Category and received a Galaxie Rising Star Award. He has collaborated with artists such as Elisapie (co-producing The Ballad of the Runaway Girl, awarded a Polaris prize and a JUNO), the Barr Brothers, Lhasa de Sela, Patrick Watson, only to name a few. Recently, Joe released his album Falcon's Heart.
