Internationally renowned cellist Sophie Rolland will offer a short talk, in both English and French, on the historical and emotional context of the works featured in the program. Drawing on her extensive stage experience and driven by a deep passion for musical outreach, she will share with the audience some listening insights designed to enrich their experience.
Based in London for over thirty-five years, Sophie now resides in Lac-Brome. Her international career has taken her to some of the world's most prestigious stages across five continents. A graduate of the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, where she earned the highest honours, she went on to study in Europe with renowned masters. A recipient of the Prix d'Europe, she was also awarded the prestigious Virginia Parker Prize from the Canada Council for the Arts.
