Rooted in the Quebec landscape and inspired by the vastness of the St. Lawrence River, Flore Laurentienne blends strings and analog synthesizers to create an instrumental world that is both powerful and contemplative. At the crossroads of classical, progressive, and experimental music, the project draws inspiration from Bach, King Crimson, and Hans-Joachim Roedelius, creating music that is rich, lyrical, and deeply evocative.

On stage, composer and keyboardist Mathieu David Gagnon is joined by six musicians: a string quartet and two keyboardist-percussionists. The power of the MiniMoog combined with the richness of the strings creates an immersive and captivating experience.

Since the release of Volume I in 2020, Flore Laurentienne has established itself on the international instrumental music scene, earning three Félix Awards, a GAMIQ, and a JUNO Award. The project has performed at several prestigious festivals, including the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal and Big Ears.
