GOWAN The return of the strange Animal

Singer-songwriter, pianist, outstanding showman, and exceptional artist, Gowan is the creator of the classics A Criminal Mind, (You're a) Strange Animal, Cosmetics, All The Lovers In The World, Dancing On My Own Ground, and Moonlight Desires. He made a significant breakthrough in Quebec in 1997 with his version of the timeless Pour un instant by Harmonium, which appeared on his Live au Québec album, celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2022. A new limited-edition vinyl of the album is available at his concerts.

Born in Glasgow, Scotland, and raised in Toronto, Lawrence Gowan had a successful solo career: four platinum records, three gold records, and one certified gold single before joining the legendary band Styx in 1999 as a keyboardist and one of the three lead singers.

As a solo artist, Gowan released six albums between 1984 and 1997, along with a compilation of his greatest hits. Strange Animal, his second album released in 1985, was certified triple platinum in Canada, and the video for A Criminal Mind won a Juno Award for Best Video. Four of his songs have been certified SOCAN (ASCAP) Classics, each surpassing 100,000 radio plays in Canada.

As a member of Styx, which celebrated its 50th anniversary last year, Gowan has recorded five studio albums, three live DVD/Blu-Ray releases, and toured worldwide, performing over 3,000 shows with the band. Styx's most recent album, Crash Of The Crown, reached the #1 spot on Billboard's Rock chart upon its release.
